 This site has been in use for most of my life and I am shocked that it may go on to pollute the area for another generation. Now that the site is used to take landfill/rubbish from all over the region it will be the easy option for the company, easier to fight to keep this site open than to devlop anything new. Despite promises of a tidy up and new entrance nothing has ever changed at the site and now proposals to move pylons and build new road routes in just add to the cost to us all.  I've read all of the objection information and can't beleive that any council would rip up greenbelt land. I commute to work through the Seghill-Backworth-Shiremoor and it looks like my cycle route is going to be spoiled both in terms of the waggonway and the lovely scenery. I cycled to Silverlink with my daughter this morning and noticed the devestation to the land already. I thought the North Tyneside / Blyth Valley cycling plan was to have a route that goes from Cramington to the Tyne Tunnel. It looks like environmental and leisure/health concerns are neglible.

 I wish to object to the extension of this waste heap which is now 300ft high and was initially only to be used for Blyth Valley waste with a 10 year life span. It is now 30 years old and has grown in to a massive mountain of waste. It has caused problems to the local residents with wind blown waste clogging up their gardens and has caused toxic fumes and obnoxious smells. House prices have plummeted since the site opened. And the extension will make this worse. The land fill is now in the middle of a major housing area, surrounded by Seghill, Holywell and Seaton Delaval on one side, Backworth, Shiremoor, Earsdon, opposite and then by Beaumont Park, plus Redhouse Farm estate opposite Burradon, Annitsford and Dudley. Thus the site is in the centre of a major conurbation of communities which will be all be effected.

The smell is awful and on warm summer nights I cannot open the windows as the horrible smell makes my family feel ill. I have not been able to attend meetings as I am nursing my husband through cancer and have a six year old son to care for on my own at the moment.  As a born native of Seaton Delaval residing for 20 years at the fringe of the landfill site (Hastings Park Estate) I strongly believe that enough is enough for our village and adjoining neighbours. We are all tired of the heavy traffic, noise, acrid dust, swarms of biting flys and polythene projectiles. When will our local beauty spots be allowed to funtion naturally without the constent threat of continued pollution. Prior to the last extension the Seghill section of the Dene was a haven for Brown Bank Voles but no longer. STOP THE LANDFILL NOW!
